Class Acts at Tunnel Barn Winter League

 

A high quality turnout at the weekend saw 5 England Internationals and a Fish o Mania winner as well as many top ranked anglers battle it out in the 7th round of the Winter League.

 

Des Ship was victorious with 80-12-0 off the Canal pool peg 5, just beating Fish o Mania winner Neil Machin who had 79-10-0 off peg 21 on the House pool.

 

Five lakes were used in the match, House, Extension, New, Club and Canal.  Each of these lakes had an angler in the top nine.  Maggots and pellet were the two main baits, with bloodworm and joker taking a backseat due to the mild weather.

 

Twenty seven weights were recorded over 50lb, with 19lb being the lowest weight.  Well done to John Lavender, we said we would get you in the news somehow!!

 

Garbolino won the team battle on the day with 73 points out of 80, their lowest weight was 60-2-0
